Pine Flat Lake Fishing

Pine Flat Lake is a beautiful lake located in the Sierra Nevada foothills and is operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers. Pine Flat Lake is known mostly for its Spotted Bass fishing where catches are typically best in the main lake arm around the coves and inlets using plastic worms or jigs. Pine Flat Lake holds the current record Spotted Bass catch at 10 pounds, 4 ounces landed in 2001. Largemouth Bass, Rainbow Trout, and Brown Trout can also provide great fishing throughout the year. The California DFG does Rainbow Trout plants in the spring when the water levels and temps are favorable, and the trout fishing is typically good using standard trolling techniques.
